History
The Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Nursing school was established in October 2002 by the Human Resource Division of Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ghana Health Services (GHS) under the directorship of Dr. Ken Sagoe
After a series of meetings and consultations, this school was finally established with the assistance and efforts of the following personnel;
Prof. Sir. G. Wireko-Brobbey – Professor in ENT
Dr. Ken Sagoe – Director HRD (GHS)
Dr. Antwi Bosiako – Director HRD (MOH)
Dr. E. D. Kitcher – Consultant ENT Surgeon (KATH)
Dr. J. Opoku Buabeng – Consultant ENT Surgeon (KATH)
Rev. Dr. Peter Awuah – Consultant ENT Surgeon (KATH)
Mr. Simon Koku – HRD (GHS)
Mr. Abdul R. Shaban – DDNS – KNTC
Ms. Paulina Asante – DDNS – ENT Department (KATH)
Ms. Rebecca Engmann – DDNS – ENT Department (KATH)
Ms. Grace Koffie – DDNS – ENT Department (KATH)
Mr. Abdul R. Shaban and Dr. Opoku Buabeng were chosen by MOH to be coordinators. Later, Mr. Abdul R. Shaban was appointed as the substantive principal of the school.
This is the only school designed to train nurses in the ENT specialty in the nation and among a few in the sub-region West Africa.
The school has trained over 300 ENT Nurses who are serving in various health facilities across the length and breadth of Ghana
